The Area Manager, National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, Warri Area Office, Engr. Rufus Oladimeji Ogbonlato, says everything is coming up eventually in Warri Area, which covers Edo and Delta States, calling on investors to come collaborate with the Authority.
Fresh Angle International, can report that Engr. Ogbonlato, made the assertion, Tuesday February 25, when he conducted the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre, Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Joy Ejumudo, Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Nunu and other top Officials of the Council on a facility tour of National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, Warri Area Office.
The NIWA Area Manager, who disclosed that they have been able to invite some investors currently partnering the Authority in the recycling of plastic bottles and other wastes, said the collaboration would help to decongest the inland waterways and improve the safety of travellers in the river.

The plastic waste recycling section
Whilst seeking the collaboration of the Comr. Agbateyiniro administration of Warri South Local Government Area, Engr. Ogbonlato, noted: “We are also using this opportunity to tell Detlans that we can convert these (plastic wastes) to money, instead of causing obstruction on the waterways. As you can see, our sandblasting plant are operated by private investors, you can see our training company, training individuals on how to maintain engine. We have everything complete here and the atmosphere is conducive and secured in terms of security.
“Under the new administration of Mr. President (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) we want to see how we can turn everything around. We use to see that government’s property do not last. But you can see the evidence that everything is coming up eventually. Under the leadership of our Managing Director, there's zero tolerance for any government property going sour.”

The Sandblasting section
The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, shortly after the facility tour, averred: “We are not happy that we have this great facility here and not much is being done to put it into use.
“We intend to organise a seminar, wherein we will bring critical stakeholders and investors, so that they will highlight issues that relate to how we can put this place to maximum use. This will create employment for our people and we can also use that to negotiate insecurity.

Inspection in progress
“Some skeletal activities are taking place in this place and I think we can do more. This is what the collaboration is actually going to bring about. We need more activities in this place and more human traffic in terms of investments.
“There are youths that are not aware of this facility and there are youths that are aware, but are reluctant. We can use the development of those that are interested, to negotiate and make it attractive for those that are not interested to be part of it.”
