The World Health Organization, WHO, says 16% of the global population live with disabilities, experiencing a range of health inequities, including premature deaths, poorer health outcomes, and higher disease risk when compared to the general population.
Fresh Angle International, can report that this much was extracted from the verified X handle of WHO this morning, Wednesday April 2.
According to the global health body, the health inequities experienced by persons with disabilities are due to unfair and avoidable factors within and beyond health systems, such as lack of access to quality and affordable health services, societal stigma, or discrimination in health services.

WHO, explained that the Global Disability Summit 2025, organized by the Government of Jordan, the Government of Germany, and the International Disability Alliance, taking place between April 2-3 in Berlin, Germany, will represent a key opportunity to catalyse the political prioritization needed to advance health equity for persons with disabilities.
