Akpoti-Uduaghan labels  'Prof. Mgbeke's Allegation as Defamatory

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has  dismissed the claim made by social commentator, Dr. Sandra Duru, also known as “Prof. Mgbeke' as   defamatory, baseless, and a desperate attempt to derail her formal petition of sexual harassment against the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Reacting to a viral Facebook broadcast by Dr. Duru, which accused her of orchestrating false allegation against Senator Akpabio, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that the claims lack any factual or forensic merit, describing it as a blatant interference with judicial and investigative processes.

“These allegations are entirely devoid of merit, unfounded in fact, and constitute an egregious attempt at diversion from the substantive issues raised"  she declared.
The Kogi Senator , added: “Such sensational and unsubstantiated claims are injurious, not only to my reputation, but also to the broader public interest in maintaining the sanctity of judicial processes.”

The Senator, who has petitioned the authorities over allegations of sexual harassment by Akpabio, said she remains resolute in pursuing justice through appropriate legal channels, calling for an impartial and transparent investigation devoid of external influence.

“I categorically deny and repudiate Dr. Duru's claims and challenge her sponsors to reveal themselves and substantiate their allegations with cogent, credible, and independently verifiable evidence before appropriate legal and investigative bodies,” she said.

Describing the broadcast as “reckless” and “strategic distraction,” Akpoti-Uduaghan cautioned against any further dissemination of what she called defamatory content, vowing to pursue civil and criminal remedies against offenders.

She urged the media and public to remain alert to what she termed “orchestrated media distractions” designed to subvert justice, and reaffirmed her commitment to upholding truth and due process.

In a shocking turn of events on social media, a self-acclaimed influencer known as Professor Mgbeke, whose real name is Sandra Duru, has come under fire for allegedly attempting to tarnish the image of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. In her desperate bid to discredit the respected senator, Sandra Duru exposed herself as a peddler of misinformation and malice. Her actions, widely condemned by netizens, have been seen as a calculated attempt to derail the growing influence and integrity of Senator Natasha, a woman who has continued to defy odds and inspire countless Nigerians with her courage and leadership.

Social media users swiftly responded, calling out Sandra Duru for her deceitful tactics and questioning her true motives. Many pointed to her controversial past and pattern of character assassination as a sign that she is more interested in personal gain than public good. The hashtag #GodOfNatasha is now trending, with thousands rallying behind the senator, declaring that “the God of Senator Natasha Akpoti never sleeps.” Supporters have praised Natasha for her calm demeanor and unwavering focus in the face of such provocation.

The backlash against Professor Mgbeke has extended beyond Nigeria’s borders, with some Nigerians in the diaspora tagging U.S. authorities including @usinnigeria and former President @realdonaldtrump, calling for a thorough review of her immigration status. They insist that individuals who engage in smear campaigns against credible public figures should not find refuge abroad. “Send her back to Nigeria,” they wrote, demanding accountability and justice. As the dust settles, one thing remains clear—integrity will always outshine deceit.
