Otuaro committed to giving Itsekiri Nation its due in the Presidential Amnesty Programme- Odeli

Niger Delta Activist and community development proponent, Prince David Odeli, says Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, is committed to giving Itsekiri Nation its due in the amnesty programme.

According to Odeli, Dr. Otuaro, has demonstrated “very deep understanding of the Niger Delta Region, by giving the Itsekiri Nation special attention in the Amnesty programme”, adding, “It has never been this favourable to our people, since the inception of the programme.”

Prince Odeli, who made the declaration in a telephone chat with Fresh Angle International, Tuesday night, said a sizeable number of Itsekiri students, have been sponsored to different universities across Nigeria and abroad, under the administration of Dr. Dennis Otuaro.

Whilst stating that the Itsekiris and the Ijaws, are divinely put together, the Itsekiri community leader, opined that the Presidential Amnesty Boss, has shown that the perceived differences between both tribes can be sources of strength, if properly annexed.

“Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has continued to deepen engagement between the Itsekiri Nation and the Ijaw people, with a view to fostering peaceful coexistence.

“The Itsekiris and Ijaws, need each other to enhance our human capital potentials, so as to guarantee accelerated as well as even development across the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole. As a way of actualizing the dream, leaders of the two ethnic nationalities, should caution their followers and admirers against ventilating comments on social media, capable of causing crisis.

“Itsekiri and Ijaw leaders, who strongly believe that peace is the only alternative to living together, can do better for our people, by sustaining critical engagements. The peaceful engagement, would go along way to develop our people and our communities”, Prince Odeli, postulated.
