My Dear Itsekiri Brothers and Sisters – Youths, Elders, Chiefs, and All Sons and Daughters of Iwere

As we stand at the threshold of a new year, my heart is heavy with both reflection on our glorious past and hope for our shared future.

The Warri Kingdom, our ancestral home, has endured storms – from historical triumphs in trade and culture to painful divisions that have tested our resilience.

We are a proud people, descendants of the great Prince Ginuwa, bearers of a rich heritage that binds us as one family under Ogiame.

Yet, in recent times, acrimonies have lingered among us. Whether from past leadership transitions, community disagreements, or external pressures in the broader Warri region, these divisions have held us back. They have distracted us from what truly matters: the progress of our people, the education of our children, the empowerment of our youths, and the meaningful development of our communities – from Ode-Itsekiri to Ugborodo, Omadino to Ureju, and every Itsekiri enclave.

To our vibrant youths: You are the heartbeat of our nation, full of energy, ideas, and potential. Do not let old grudges or misplaced anger fuel violence or discord. Channel that fire into building – entrepreneurship, education, cultural preservation, and advocacy for our rights. Reject provocation; embrace leadership that unites. Remember, a divided house cannot stand tall in the face of challenges.

To our wise elders and chiefs: You are the custodians of our traditions, the voices of experience. Guide us with patience and forgiveness. Let go of past hurts, for true reconciliation begins with repentance and understanding. As Ogiame Atuwatse III has reminded us, peace must be built on a foundation of order and mutual respect. Rally around the palace as our unifying symbol, and lead by example in fostering harmony.

Bury the acrimonies today. Let forgiveness flow like the waters of our rivers. Extend hands across families, communities, and generations. Unity is our greatest strength – it will unlock investments, infrastructure, jobs, and prosperity for all. Imagine our kingdom thriving: better schools, hospitals, roads, and opportunities where every Itsekiri child dreams big without fear.

We have overcome greater trials before. Under the divine grace of Olokun and the ancestors, and with Ogiame as our father, we can rise again – stronger, united, and prosperous.

Let 2026 be the year of true peace and development in Iwere Land. One people, one destiny.

Ogiame Suoooo!
With love and faith in our future.
