RE: The Burden Of Capacity: A Rejoinder To The Unwarranted Attack On Dr. Collins Edema: Why Warri Deserves Capacity Over Clout

Dear Mone Oris, I deem it fit and necessary to join issues with you on your write up with the above caption, aimed at denigrating the person of Comr. Emiko Oghomienor and perhaps singing the praise of your pay master.

Your write up shows that you either do not honestly comprehend the issues raised by Comr. Emiko or you just decided to please your pay master with a praise singing tune.

My response to You Friday April 3, however will better serve its purpose, by reference to the original post by Mr. Collins Edema, in an attempt to help you understand salient issues raised and perhaps save you from your doldrums.

Firstly, Comr. Emiko stated clearly no one is stopping your boss Mr. Collins Edema from contesting any political office he so desires as it is his constitutional right to so do. However, he has by his very publication declined any interest in a Senatorial bid. If he so desires to contest the seat of the House of Representatives for Warri Federal Constituency, he is also welcomed to test the waters.

However, hiding under declining a call to contest for Senate seat, to throw slings at the current member representing Warri Federal Constituency, at the House of Representatives is what has left a sour taste in the mouth of Comr. Emiko and other sons and daughters of Warri Kingdom who mean well for the Itsekiri political stance in Warri and Delta State.

This is so, not only because of his office as the sole representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL which may sway the minds of the people that he is acting with His Majestys support, thereby sustaining an atmosphere for the likely politization of our revered palace and the subsequent likelihood of dragging the palace to disrepute but also because his position is strengthened by the fact that your boss was conspicuously silent on the representation of current Senate representative. A seat he was called to contest for.

One can infer that his so called supporters who called on him to contest for the Senate seat were not okay with the current representation, hence the call for "Itsekiri new found saviour" your Paymaster to contest for that seat. What was the correlation between his letter to decline a call to contest Senate and his teaming up to unseat a Rep. member? Do you truly believe this is in the best interest of the Itsekiri nation?

Let me state at this junction, that at the appropriate time, we shall come forth with the stewardship of Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi and leave the rest for our people to judge just so you know that contrary to your opinion, Comr. Emiko never by any stretch of his representations as published, shy away from accountability to the people. (You may want to read Emiko's publication again for better comprehension. Abi na night school you go?)

Having helped you grasped the issues raised by Comr. Emiko better, let me respond to few assertions in your post.

I have tried hard, to see why you laboured so hard to lecture Warri on the word "capacity" only to draw a faulty and misguided conclusion that a PHD holder automatically wields more political or even traditional capacity than a BSC holder or even an illiterate. Delta State and Nigeria are replete with examples to the contrary. My brother please do your research.

To compare your paymaster to Comr. Emiko as a grassroot mobilizer is laughable. If I may ask, is Mr. Collins Edema even a politician? Is he even a card carrying member of any registered political party? What was is election result for his unit, ward and LGA during 2023 general election? Your answer to these questions will teach you the lesson you've failed to learn.

I reiterate what Comr. Emiko said in his publication, Mr Collins do not have the prerequisite to speak on behalf of Itsekiri Nation and he should not be carried away because of the position his occupying in the palace.

On a norms, I wouldn’t have joined issues with you because of your dubious antecedent, your likes lack the moral standard to talk about accountability in this kingdom; when you have been caught impersonating my identity on social media and doing some dubious businesses with my name, where is your integrity Mr. Mone Oris?

Lastly may I advise that we all look at the bigger picture politically if we claim to so love our tribe. We should be able to calculate the possibility of loosing relevance if we only fight to pull ourselves down while outsiders will inturn reap the benefit. That way we end up loosing at all ends. I won't say more than this. Let wisdom prevail so understanding can set in. Thank you.

Engr. Great Kpenosen.

Senior Special Assistant to Rep. Thomas Ereyitomi, MHR.
