DTHA Consensus list in circulation, fabricated to mislead party faithful – Delta APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, has dissociated itself from a purported list in circulation across social media, presented as the party’s approved list of adopted consensus candidates for the Delta State House of Assembly elections, saying the list is a deliberate fabrication designed to mislead Party faithful, aspirants and the general public.

The denial, was contained in a statement released Monday May 4 by the Publicity Secretary of APC, Delta State, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq.

 According to Onojeghuo, the Party cannot be seen to have purportedly adopted candidates, while the sale and submission of nomination as well as expression of interest forms, is still on-going.

The statement, reads: “The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, has been inundated with reports of a purported list in circulation across social media, falsely presented as the Party’s approved list of adopted consensus candidates for the Delta State House of Assembly elections.

“We state unequivocally and without reservation that this list is fake, unauthorized, and does not emanate from the Party in any form whatsoever. It is a deliberate fabrication designed to mislead Party faithful, aspirants, and the general public, and to create confusion within our well-structured and transparent nomination process.

“For the avoidance of doubt, although the Party has indicated its preference for the consensus mode of primaries in accordance with its constitution and guidelines, no list of candidates has been discussed, adopted, or ratified by the leadership of the Party in Delta State. Any claim to the contrary is false and should be treated with the contempt it deserves. 

“Delta APC, therefore, firmly and completely disassociates itself from the said list in its entirety. We urge all Party members, aspirants, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard this baseless publication and resist any attempt to give it credibility.

“Furthermore, it must be clearly emphasized that the sale and submission of nomination and expression of interest forms are still ongoing. The Party cannot be seen to have purportedly adopted candidates while this process is yet to conclude. Any suggestion otherwise is not only misleading but also an affront to the Party’s commitment to due process, fairness, and internal democracy.

“We caution those behind this mischief to desist immediately from actions capable of undermining the unity and integrity of our Party. Delta APC remains resolute in conducting a credible, transparent, and inclusive primary process, and no amount of propaganda or fabrication will derail this commitment.

“All stakeholders are strongly advised to rely solely on official communications from duly authorized Party channels.”
