Uduaghan, Ochei, Clark cold war sends Delta on political holiday

Despite the all-is-well reports filed by media correspondents from Delta State on the political situation, there is growing political cold war between the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei on one hand as well as Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark on the other hand.

Fresh Angle investigation reveals that the seeming political difference between Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and the House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Victor Ochei is as a result of the latter’s 2015 gubernatorial ambition which came to the fore when the State House of Assembly controversially dissolved the board of DESOPADEC, a decision which shocked the executive and has further made the interventionist agency impotent, with Deltans eagerly waiting to see how the event will unfold.

The seeming cold war between the duo has equally led to the State House of Assembly suspending deliberations on the names sent to it as members of Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC by Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. It is equally delaying the governor’s proposed announcement of local government council Caretaker Committees.

While the House of Assembly are allegedly seeking more fund from the executive, Dr. Uduaghan on one hand is rumoured to be averse to the gubernatorial ambition of the Speaker, Hon. Ochei, with speculations rife that he is disposed to the 2015 gubernatorial candidacy of Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.

Another angle to the political stalemate in the state is that between the Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ijaw National Leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark.

Feelers reaching Fresh Angle reveals that despite the widely publicized political harmony between Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Chief Edwin Clark , the political difference between both may not have been settled.  Fresh Angle gathered from an impeccable source that state governor is vehemently opposed to Chief Edwin Clark’s choice of PDP State Organizing Secretary, Prince Charles Omadeli despite several efforts to make the governor back down.

There are indications that until the seeming rift between the governor and Speaker as well as that of the governor and Chief Clark is resolved, the apparent political holiday in Delta State may continually linger as political gladiators from all sides eagerly wait in anticipation.
