Delineation: INEC is corruptly confused, trying to cause fresh crisis in Warri - INYC

The Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC, says the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is corruptly confused and deliberately trying to cause another round of ethnic crisis in Warri.

INYC, in a statement made available to Fresh Angle International Thursday night, averred that the latest upload of units on INEC's portal, particularly units created under " the so called Ewein Wards" in Warri South Local Government Area, are " ghost units."

Public Relations Officer of INYC, Hon. Tuoyo Ebigbeyi Awani, who signed the statement on behalf of the Itsekiri youth leadership, opined that INEC's controversial delineation of units and wards in Warri Federal Constituency, especially in Warri South Local Government Area, is fraudulent " with fake coordinates imported to justify land grabbing."

The statement, reads inter - alia :"The Itsekiri National Youth Council (INYC) totally rejects the recent Warri Federal constituency delineation report with special emphasis on the Warri South report uploaded by INEC on its portal, where three (3) wards were fraudulently created for the Ijaws absolutely from Okere /Pessu Community land.

"Despite pointing out clear frauds in the INEC report, wherein coordinates were brought in from other Local Governments and even from other States just to help them in this land grabbing exercise, INEC has refused to listen.

"The fraudulent units created under the so-called Ewein Wards are all ghost units. There is no place in Warri South with such nomenclature. These are non-existent places manufactured by INEC to justify their fraud.

"Even the recent upload is full of fraud and confusion. Units from Ubeji have been taken to Ugbuwangue Ward, and units from Orere in Omadino/Obodo ward have been taken to Bowen Ward. This alone proves that INEC is corruptly confused and not ready for a credible exercise.

It is obvious that INEC is deliberately trying to cause another round of ethnic crisis in Warri which is already brewing. INEC will be held responsible for any breakdown of peace in Warri.

"As a people, we have lost confidence on the State Government cause they know the truth but have refused to let it out to the NSA and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 

"We State That:

1. Okere and Pessu are 

  Itsekiri land from time immemorial. No inch of it belongs to Ijaws.

2. Documented facts and historical records show Ijaws are not part of Warri South.

3. The entire report is fraudulent, with fake coordinates imported to justify land grabbing.

4. The Warri south legislative Arm have stated their position through a resolution that Ijaws are not part of Warri south, and that must be respected .

"We demand that INEC immediately pulls down this fraudulent document from its portal and restores sanity. Warri South wards must remain as they were either by INEC or DSIEC.

"We will resist this injustice with all legitimate and legal means available to us as a people ."
