The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, says preliminary intelligence, suggests that the skimmish that happened Saturday November 7 at Cinema Site in the Okumagba Avenue Area of Warri, was likely due to irreconcilable differences between members of Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
The Warri South Local Government Chief Security Officer, who spoke to newsmen at the spot Sunday November 8, said no serious political party, would use a 50/ 60 meter dimension to conduct their activities.
Whilst noting that the intelligent report on the incident, was still being processed, with a directive to the security agencies to do the needful in ensuring that the peace and security in Warri South Local Government Area, is maintained, Comrade Agbateyiniro, who used the opportunity to undertake on - the - spot assessment of ongoing drainage project being constructed by the state government in the area, noted :" No sooner, the incident happened in the area, the NDC governorship candidate ( Deacon Chris Iyovwaye ) who doesn't live in the neighborhood, appeared on the scene within seconds.
" In the 2023 general elections, our governor won not less than 80 percent of the votes, to be returned as governor. Those behind the NDC governorship candidate, should have given him better advice, considering the massive infrastructural projects across the state.
" The decoy, by the NDC governorship candidate, to insinuate that it was APC that orchestrated what happened at Cinema Site yesterday, is a dummy, that can't fly. All political parties, have been campaigning freely in Warri South Local Government Area."
He declared that people of Warri South Local Government Area, have resolved to unequivocally return Governor Sheriff Oborevwori come February 2026, hence, some are envious and creating funny drama.
Comrade Agbateyiniro, who hinged his optimism on the infrastructural projects being executed in Warri South Local Government Area by the Oborevwori administration, asserted that all APC candidates, will emerge victorious in the incoming elections.
Prominent Chief in Okere - Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, stated that Governor Oborevwori, has performed exceedingly well, hence the APC, is not afraid of any election in the state.
Hon. Opuoru, who's the Special Adviser on Environment to Governor Oborevwori, said the governor, was doing a lot to address the challenge of flooding in Okere - Urhobo Kingdom, Warri .
Whilst stating there's no issue with vehicular movement in Okere - Urhobo as a result of the draining project, Hon. Opuoru, cautioned residents of the area against dumping refuse on water channels, so as not to jeopardize efforts of the state government.
