The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Special Marshal, Delta State has begun a state-wide stakeholders/town-hall meeting of commuters, commercial vehicle drivers, market women, school owners, students as well as all security agents with a visit to Sapele, Delta State.
The Delta State Coordinator, Special Marshal and Partners, Mr. Dickson Amromawhe, while delivering his welcome address, said members of road safety are like ambassadors, always making sure people drive and obey the Federal Highway Code at all times.
Mr. Amromawhe noted that FRSC Special Marshal will continue to enlighten motorists in order to have a safer road usage in the State.
In his brief lecture to educate motorists and stakeholders on the risks involved in not abiding with the various road safety rules and regulations, he identified human, mechanical and environmental as the three factors that lead to road crashes.
The Delta State FRSC Special Marshal Coordinator, Mr. Amromawhe urged stakeholders in the State, especially members of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW to apply safety rules at all times.

The Duke of Sapele, Chief William Ayomanor assured the FRSC Special Marshal of the Okpe Palace assistance, urging FRSC to “continue to educate and sensitize our people because a lot of our people do not read road signs and other warning signs”.
The Delta State FRSC Sector Commander, Rindom Kumven in his speech, insisted that all commercial and private vehicles must install speed limit metres, noting that excessive speed causes the highest road crashes in Nigeria.
He charged his Officers/Men to extend the safety campaign to various worship centres like Churches, and Mosque, warning those giving money to proxies to obtain driving license to desist from it or face arrest.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the Town Hall meeting/Sensitization drew stakeholders from the Nigeria Police, the education sector, NURTW, National Association of Proprietress of Private Schools, NAPSS led by Mrs. Stella Pessu Quebec, students, the Navy, Press, ASCA Regional Manager and others.
Rain Oil, Oghara Desk Officer, FRSC, Mrs. Pat Egule Omolubi affirmed that FRSC will continue to enforce and correct defaulters until it get better, adding that they will continue to fight against overloading and excessive speeding.
