Okotie-Eboh, Rewane, Ogbebor, others to receive award as NAIG celebrates 20

Nigeria’s first Finance Minister, late Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, patriarch of Rewane dynasty, late Pa. Alfred Rewane, prominent Itsekiri leader, Chief (Mrs.) Rita Lori-Ogbebor, former Chairman of Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, Pa. J.O.S Ayomike, Chairman of DESOPADEC, Hon. Godwin Ebosa and NFF President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, will be bestowed with posthumous, legendary and excellence awards as the National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG celebrates her 20^th anniversary/convention.

The weeklong event which will commence with a community outreach on Saturday July 8, will feature leadership training/workshop, paying of homage to the Olu of Warri, indoor games, founders’ day/awards ceremony, gala nite and thanksgiving on July 11, July 12, July 13, July 14, 15^th and 16 respectively.

According to a statement signed by Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, Eburajolo Ben and Ghereje Joshua, President of NAIG, NAIG General Secretary and Anniversary Committee Chairman respectively, the event will climax with the award ceremony billed for Brown Hill Events Centre, Ogunu, Warri on Friday July 14.

The statement noted that renowned academic, Dr. Jackson Ireyefoju, seasoned Engineer and Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Board of DESOPADEC, Engr. Victor Oritsetimeyin Wood as well as Mr. Segun Manuel will feature as resource persons, while the member representing Warri Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, Hon. Michael Diden, Hon. (Mrs.) Shola Daibo,  all of Delta State House of Assembly are among dignitaries expected to grace the grandeur events.

Delta State Commissioner of Transport, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan and his counterpart in the State Executive Council, Rev. Mrs. Shola Williams are also among prominent Itsekiri sons and daughters expected to attend the events.

The weeklong programme with the theme “NAIG as a Torchbearer in Iwere land: The Burden of Effective Leadership”, will also witness the unveiling of NAIG Permanent Secretariat Model, while Itsekiri born artistes such as Ada Gold, Olamietan Adero and Rex-B- Tony will entertain guests.
