Delta Principal blames cultism, drug abuse on failed parenthood

The Principal of Yonwuren College, Warri, Mrs. Lydia Edede has blamed the rising cases of cultism, drug abuse and other social vices on failed parenthood, disclosing that students found to have been involved in cult related activities have been expelled from the school.

Mrs. Edede made the observation during an anti cultism and drug abuse as well as how to eat One Fruit Per Day campaign organized by the Junior Chamber International, JCI,  Warri Chapter at Yonwuren College, Warri.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the Head Pastor of God’s Own Sanctuary Gospel Church, Pastor Isaac O'biyi Owolabi who also spoke at the sensitization campaign, admonished students to desist from acts that could make them deviants, declaring that anyone practicing cultism will be rejected by the society.

The Chairman of the Anti Cultism/Drug abuse Awareness Campaign, JCI, Warri, Asare Segun and the Chairman, One Fruit Per Day, JCI, Warri, Joyce Diaso admonished the students to shun cultism, drugs abuse and other social vices.

According to Asare and Diaso, in line with the JCI Year 2017 programme they decided to embark on the campaign because the increase of social vices is becoming worrisome.

Ace Broadcaster, Mr. Chukwujiokem Nwajei in a brief lecture admonished the students to shun cultism, drug abuse and take their studies seriously, noting that those who engage in cultism are failures.

Nwajei enjoined the students of Yonwuren College to focus on their studies so as not to damage their future.
