Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Matters and former DESOPADEC Commissioner, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru says the choice of his principal, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as the Chairman of PDP National Convention Planning Committee “demonstrates his (Dr. Okowa) leadership ability to govern and mediate no matter how difficult the situation”.
The Governor’s Aide and Warri Urhobo PDP leader who made the declaration Wednesday August 9 in a statement made available to Fresh Angle International in Warri, averred that Dr. Okowa’s choice attests to the strong confidence the National leadership of PDP has on him to organize a rancour free non-elective convention.
He expressed optimism that at the end of the convention which is slated for Saturday August 12, PDP will emerge a more united political family capable of staging a formidable opposition to the APC at the National level in the build-up to the 2019 general elections.
On the recent approval of 24 new schools in the three senatorial districts of Delta State by the Okowa administration, Mr. Opuoru stated, “it clearly points to the fact that His Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa places high premium on the development of education in Delta State. This is because he believes that providing the right atmosphere for teaching and learning is the bases on which genuine leaders of tomorrow in Delta State and beyond can be produced”.
