Delta stakeholders commend NPA MD over Proposed Warri Port dredging

The Delta Seaports Stakeholders’ Association, DSSA has commended the managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Hajia Hadiza Bala Usman over efforts by her leadership to actualize the much awaited Warri Port dredging, repair of navigational equipment and the break water, which "are finally a reality".

The commendation which is coming on the heels of a courtesy visit to the NPA headquarters in Lagos by members of the Delta Seaports Stakeholders’ Association is sequel to an earlier promise by the association to ensure indigenes of NPA Warri host communities provide the right atmosphere for the revitalization of the Port.

At the stakeholders' meeting, the NPA Boss, Hajia Hadiza Usman was represented by the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Mr. Mohammed Bello Koko.

In a statement signed by Chairman and Secretary of Delta Seaports Stakeholders’ Association, Emiko Oghomienor and Tommy Mewe respectively, the association expressed gratitude to the NPA Management for the provision of a Tug Boat-MT Manu for Warri Port in fulfillment of Hadiza Usman’s commitment at her maiden stakeholders’ meeting in Warri.

While thanking the NPA Management for the assurance that indigenes of NPA Warri Host communities will be considered for employment upon commencement of recruitment exercise into NPA, the ports’ stakeholders assured the company management that It would collaborate with other ‘’stakeholders towards ensuring that water ways and ports security is not a challenge’’.

The body called on all importers within the catchment of Warri Port to begin the process of using Warri Port as their destination port, ‘’as all hitherto concerns are being addressed headlong.’’
