Overhaul Your Cabinet Now - Ex-militant Leader Tells Buhari

Niger Delta Ex-militant Leader, Eshanekpe Israel, a.k.a Akpodoro has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency overhaul his cabinet as presently constituted, noting that the cabinet have so many “disgruntled and disloyal characters” like the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Alhasan, saying, the perfidious ones in his cabinet were more than those who truly love the president and all he represent.

Akpodoro stated this in Abuja over the weekend in a chat with our correspondent following a comment credited to Mrs. Alhasan pledging loyalty to a former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing him in an interview on the Hausa Service of the BBC as her godfather while she dared the President to sack her over her comments.

The ex-militant leader described Alhasan “as an ingrate, despicable with the blood of disloyalty running through her veins, noting that she was one of those enemies within” who have been working against the progress of the current administration and perhaps not happy with the return of President Muhammadu Buhari to the country.

Akpodoro an avowed supporter of President Buhari and National President of the Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A doubles as the National Coordinator of Urhobo Youth Forum for Change, UYFC, described the Minister as “lacking in integrity and honour”,  saying the most honourable thing to do was for her to resign from the cabinet before being booted out with ignominy.

The president as a matter of urgency should rejig his cabinet, sack so many of them and appoint those who shares in the vision and mission of his administration without consideration for tribe and nepotism, loyalty must be absolute and the lack of it was dangerous to any human organisation.

He further averred that most persons in the All Progressives Congress, APC led administration government were actually members of the opposition who were voted out of office by the people of Nigeria questioning the rational behind appointing them into the administration of 'Change' at the detriment of the footsoldiers of a new Nigeria.

Recalling how the opposition had field days during the absence of the President in the country, he said members of the current administration played what he described as “the behind the scene and had already taken position in preparatory for the news of the death of President Buhari describing that development as most unfortunate.

Alhasan's outburst he said “smacks off disrespect to constituted authority and an attempt to put the President's temper to test, she has shown enough disrespect to the leadership of the APC led administration and that such action shouldn't be without consequences that goes with it”.

The Urhobo-born ex-militant leader called on the President to empower his followers who have been with him every inch of the journey of his administration through difficult times. Lotalty he said, “comes with a price and same must be rewarded for the sake of another day”.

According to him, members of his group he led to declare support for the APC and its presidential candidate at the 2015 general elections and still working till date for the success of the administration are still roaming the streets in what he called outright abandonment without anything to show for their patriotic support for the administration.

Regrettably, he said those who worked against the current administration are the ones that being patronised but he was quick to state that it wasn't too late to make amends by meaningfully engaging those party faithful in the Niger region who spearheaded the troubles for the enthronement of the current administration.

“I stuck out my neck for this government, spending my hard earned resources to enthrone this administration and up till date my teeming followers are roaming the streets of the Niger Delta region while those who worked against us from the then ruling party are reaping where they didn't sow. We are eager to add our own quota to national development and we are calling on the President to consider us for patronage.” Akpodoro stated.
