Delta LG Commission suspends postings, recalls staff on annual vacation

The Delta  State Local Government Service Commission has suspended the posting of all local government council staff except for Heads of Personnel Management as well as Treasurer of the Councils and ordered the recall of those on annual vacation with a view to evaluating the level of compliance of the newly introduced Time and Attendance Device Usage, TANDA, otherwise referred to as clock-in, clock-out.

Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Asaba, Comrade Olumami Oyibo who dropped the hint Friday September 22, when he led a delegation to Warri South Local Government Council, noted that all shift duties in the health centres should be collapsed to only weekends in the interim and directed Medical Doctors heading the Primary Health Care Departments, PHC to prepare duty roster in line with the directive.

While emphasizing that the introduction of TANDA by the state government was not to witch-hunt anyone, Comrade Oyibo commended staff of Warri South Local Government Council for keying into the clock-in, clock-out attendance exercise.

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Hon. Mathew Mofe Edema commended the introduction of TANDA, saying it has helped in the smooth running and effective administration of the council.

The Warri South Local Government Council Head of Personnel Management, HPM, Bar. S.O Ekome thanked the commission's delegation for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit the council and throwing more light on the essence of the clock-in, clock-out device.

He assured Comrade Oyibo and his delegation that the management of Warri South Local Government Council will continually strive towards staff excellence in service delivery.
