The committee which has Secretary to Warri South Local Government, SLG, Mr. Oribioye Uwale as Chairman, comprises of the Head of Delta State Fire Service, Warri, Mr. Francis Tamigbe, the Councilor representing Ubeji Ward in Warri South Council Legislative Arm, Hon. Ogbitse Victor, Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Patricia Edun, Representatives of Ifie Community, Pinnacle and Shafa Oil and Gas and the Head, Safety and Environment, Matrix Energy, Mr. Fredrick Otone Olomuro, who will serve as Secretary of the committee.
Performing the inauguration Tuesday March 20 at his office, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Michael E. Tidi, noted that the committee also has the task of recommending qualified personnel to man the facility on completion.
He stressed that the essence was to “see how a Modern Fire Station can be built in that area (Ubeji-Ifie)”.
It would be recalled that a truck conveying product exploded last year in Ubeji, destroying properties worth millions of naira, while another truck recently collapsed along the Ubeji-Ifie axis which currently has no existing Firefighting Station
