Okere Elders to Tidi-Keep your integrity amid loyalty to political leaders

The Elders Council of Okere Town in Warri South Local Government Area led by the Olare-Aja, Ogieboro E.F. Esisi have congratulated Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Hon. Michael Ejueyitsi Tidi on his victory at the poll and admonished him to be “100% loyal to your political leaders, but keep your integrity”.

The elders gave the advice Thursday March 22 when they paid an historic congratulatory visit to Hon. Michael Tidi at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri.

The delegation which was led by Pa. Daniel Amorighoye in the absence of the Olare-Aja of Okere, Chief E.F. Esisi, included a former Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Pastor Mike Abrakata, former two-time Executive Secretary to Local Education Authority, Warri South, Dr. Godwin Uku, renowned Educationist, Pa. Churchill Oki as well as Chieftains of PDP, Mr. Scott Uweaja, Pa. Eyenuro and Pa. Dandy Idudun.

A member of the delegation, Pa. Churchill Oki who described Hon. Tidi as “one of the most successful Warri South indigenes to occupy the seat (Chairmanship of Warri South) today”, said the Warri South Council Boss is from a special town (Okere) in Delta State, as such should not close his eyes from his root.

Pa. Daniel Amorighoye prayed for Hon. Tidi to succeed in his position as Warri South Chairman and admonished the political class as well as civil servants in the council to give Hon. Tidi the necessary support in the resolve to provide all-round development to the Local Government Area.

Hon. Tidi who was emotionally filled with joy for the visit, averred, “when honour comes from home, it comes with originality. I wish my Dad was here, but his schedule made it impossible”.

Hon. Tidi vowed that he will not fail Okere Town and the people of Warri South Local Government Area, even as he appealed to the Okere Elders to assist his administration to educate the people not to pay revenue to anyone, but to the council account through the newly introduced sale of scratch cards.

The Warri South Council Chairman revealed that in a matter of days, all illegal abattoirs in Warri South will be closed down, adding that efforts are ongoing to reverse the trend where individuals claim ownership of markets thus depriving the council of revenue that originally belongs to it.

Hon. Tidi also promised that his administration was about to embark on the beautification of Roundabouts in the Oil City of Warri via the planting of flowers.
