Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi on Wednesday August 29 visited Digbori Street, Essi Layout in Warri, Delta State,where fire outbreak consumed the lives of a four -year old baby, Kessena and another less than two year -old named Wet of the same family, promising to take care of the medical bills as well as accommodation of surviving members of the bereaved family.
The devastating fire which burnt parts of the body of the two babies' grandmother, broke out at about 2:00 am Monday August 27 and completely razed down the wooden apartment.
Owner of the building,Rhoda Ememu and mother of one of the victims, Elo Moses, said the inferno may have been caused by Candlestick used to lit up the house.
Warri South Council Chief Security Officer, Dr. Tidi while expressing his deep condolences to the victims' family and property owner, advised residents of the area to use Lanterns in the event of no electricity supply and avoid living in wooden structures, because of its attendant high risk.
Our Correspondent reports that Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Edafejebre, the council's Supervisors for Education, Agric, Health and Youth Development, Linda Ikpuri, Henry Mayuku, Elvis Eboh and Shegue Gbenesuo respectively, were among those that accompanied Dr. Tidi to the fire outbreak scene.
