Premium Steel gives to less privilege, rehabilitates Port for improved performance


Premium Steel and Mines Limited, formerly called Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja, Delta State has perfected arrangements to donate to the less privileged in the society and orphanage homes in the area in the spirit of yuletide, with the assurance that at the current pace of work going on in the plant, the company is now better placed to reinvent the socio-economic condition of the people in the locality.

Addressing newsmen in the Company office at Aladja, Chief Executive Officer of Premium Steel and Mines Limited, Mr. Prasanta Mishra disclosed that on-going rehabilitation at the Company Port was to accommodate bigger vessels that would be bringing billets from places like Russia and Ukraine, stressing that with the billets already on high sea, production of rods at PSML would be at her peak as from January next year.

Mr. Mishra added that as part of the company Corporate Social Responsibility portfolio, arrangement has been sealed to present end of year gifts to the disabled in the society, destitute and orphans so that they can have a feel of the ember season. He emphasized that Premium Steel was conducting her business with a human face hence the need to put a smile on the faces of the less privileged in this festive season so that the disabled, orphans in orphanage homes, destitute and all manner of persons who are facing one challenge or the other could be given something to celebrate the season with as the year wind to an end.

He added that resuscitation work has also began at the SMS plant which would be completed in 2020 for the company to be fully operational, stressing that the various segments of the company have performed brilliantly in the out-going year, promising a bumper harvest of excellent performance in the coming years.

The CEO disclosed further that the Premium Technical School and Primary Schools were doing very well since the take-over of the new investors and that Premium Hospital has also been reinvented with more staff and equipment for improved productivity.

He commended the host Udu community for their peaceful disposition and support, which paved way for the conducive business climate that gave Premium Steel the impetus to thrive and make progress in 2018, assuring of better days ahead as the complete rehabilitation of the plant for full production could only avail all stakeholders of a win-win situation. He therefore appeals for continued support so that the company can fully come upstream in the interest of all.
