You have portrayed our client as filthy, harmful and noxious institution, Ozoro Poly attorney tells Isoko Mirror Newspaper

An Ughelli based legal firm, P.A. Ezo and Company has petitioned  Fone Media Integrated Company, Publishers of Isoko Mirror Newspaper, accusing it of portraying Delta State Polytechnic , Ozoro  of being “a filthy, harmful and noxious institution that harbours  promiscuous , naughty and wayward students with life threatening sexually transmitted diseases”.

The petition which is sequel to a story published in the April edition of Isoko Mirror Newspaper titled, “200 Ozoro Poly Students have HIV/AIDS?”, described the publication as a calculated attempt “to impugn the reputation of our client and expose our client in public odium and opprobrium”.

Client to Delta State Polytechnic, P.A. Ezo and Company warned that if the words published in Isoko Mirror Newspaper owned by Delta State Chairman of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria ,ACNPN, Comrade  Felida Essi is not within seven days of the petition retracted and a letter of apology written as well as fifty million naira(N50,000,000) paid as “aggravated damages”, the Institution would have made against it in the court of law, it may be compelled to institute  legal proceedings against the Newspaper.

The letter which is dated April 15, 2013 and signed by O.E. Josiah (Mrs.) copied the Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro.
In a swift reaction, Publisher of Isoko Mirror Newspaper, Comrade Felida Essi dismissed the threat, accusing the Rector of Delta State Polytechnic ,Ozoro, Dr. Jacob Snaps Oboreh as “not qualified “. She stated that the Polytechnic Rector allegedly harassed her reporters and seized their midgets (recording device).

She averred that the Rector threatened to make the issue a communal war between Uzere and Ozoro, because he believes that one Dr. Ben Owhe who is from Uzere , the same community with her sponsored the report.
