Owner of Daddy Bakery, situated along Udu road near Ovwian junction in Udu local government area, Delta State, Mr. Francis Odogun was on Monday April 15 abducted by unknown gunmen, Fresh Angle can exclusively report.
An eyewitness, who could not give the exact time Mr. Francis Odogun was abducted, said immediately the news of the kidnap filtered into town, the Transition Committee Chairman of Udu local government, Mr. Raymond Edijala alerted all security agencies within and outside the local government area to hunt for the abductors and possibly release Mr. Francis Odogun.
The witness also prayed that the victim should not be killed by the abductors.
When Our Senior Correspondent visited Udu local government council secretariat to speak with the Transition Committee Chairman on the issue Wednesday April 17, he was told that the chairman was not on seat. He requested for the council chairman’s phone number from staffers in the chairman’s office, but they refused to disclose it.
As at the time of filing this report, no contact has been established with the abductors by members of Mr. Francis Odogun’s family.
Fresh Angle can also report that indigenes from all the communities that make up Udu Kingdom, in Udu local government area on Wednesday April 17 under the watchful eyes of security operatives staged a peaceful protest along major roads in Udu, demanding that, Mr. Francis Odogun be released unconditionally by his abductors.
Some of the protesters’ placards reads, “he is our employer, release him now,” “nothing should happen to Francis Odogun” and “Release him unconditionally.”
