The Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Ughelli, Rt. Rev. CyrilOdutemu has condemned the poor state of Udu, Ughelli road in Delta State,wondering why the road which links the home town of Delta State DeputyGovernor, Prof. Amos Agbe Utuama as well as other political bigwigs in the areawill be in such a deplorable state despite the huge revenue profile of DeltaState.
The Anglican Cleric made the declaration recently whiledelivering a sermon at a special thanksgiving service held in honour ofDemocratic People’s Party, lawmaker representing Ughelli South Constituency inDelta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Engr.) Eme Mukoro. He opined that despiteallegations of embezzlement leveled against erstwhile Delta State governor,Chief James Ibori, his administration recorded appreciable development comparedto the present administration, even as he admonished Engr. Eme Mukoro andSenator Pius Ewherido not to listen to sycophants but to ensure that theelectoral mandate given to them by their people are kept in high esteem.
OurDelta Central Correspondent reports that the presenceof DPP sole senator at the service, Hon. (Barr.) Akpor Pius Ewherido wasgreeted with a rousing ovation.
