The growing peaceful relationship between Itsekiris in Warri South local government, Delta State under the auspices of Joint Communities’ Sport Development, Ugbomefa and Ijaws of Warri South-West local government received a major boost Thursday May 23 when Julius Berger Services Nigeria Limited, JBSN, presented cheques and footballs to two football clubs from both ethnic nationalities.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the presentation at NPA Yard in Warri, the Terminal Manager, JBSN, Mr. Sascha Gattschau stated that the donations to the two football clubs, Net Breakers FC from Itsekiri host communities and Ogbe-Ijoh United FC, representing Ijaw host communities is to foster the existing peace between both ethnic nationalities and to promote football in the area with a view to creating employment opportunities for the youths.
Coaches of both clubs, Prophet Ogbe and Payebo Koremene thanked Julius Berger Services Nigeria Limited for its continuous support of sports in the area and promised to make judicious use of the footballs and financial support.
The Manager, Claim and Insurance, JBSN, Chief Abhulimhen Patrick was among top officials of the company and community representatives that graced the brief presentation.
