NationalPresident of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayodele JosephOritsejafor has revealed that sometimes he doesn’t sleep at night as a resultof calls made by security chiefs and top christian clerics from NorthernNigeria due to the increasing mayhem perpetrated by radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

PastorOritsejafor who also doubles as second time President of Pentecostal Fellowshipof Nigeria, PFN, made the disclosure Sunday November 6 in Warri, Delta Statewhile addressing members of his congregation on some of the challenges he isfacing as leader of all christians in Nigeria. He noted that over 30 Christiansand 60 policemen were killed in Friday’s (November 4) attacks in Damaturu (YobeState), Maiduguri (Borno State) and Kaduna.

According tohim, despite criticism and threat messages as well as calls from certainquarters he will not be intimidated, but will continue to be a voice for christiansacross the country.

Meanwhilethe CAN President has disclosed that delegation from over 18 states of thecountry will attend this year’s gospel festival of Word of Life Bible Churchtagged “Jubilee Word Festival” which will run from November 13 through 20, withfour American born Preachers ministering.

It would berecalled that Oritsejafor’s recent comment backing the removal of fuel subsidyby the Jonathan administration attracted criticism from pockets of Christiansin Northern Nigeria.

Reports ofthe Friday November 4 bombing in a mainly Christian neighbourhood of Damaturucalled Jerusalem revealed that six churches were affected while a police stationwas also not spared in the suicide attack.

There areindications that the continuous violence by the radical Islamic sect, BokoHaram is not unconnected with their refusal to accept the Jonathanadministration, which enjoys the strong backing of christians in Nigeria.
