Sons and daughters of Bomadi local government area have raised their voices and prayed to God for quick intervention to redeem and restore the land.

The gathering tagged Bomadi local government Solemn Assembly with the theme “Redeeming the Land” held at the council secretariat and it witnessed the presence of Delta State First Lady, Deaconess Nere Roli Uduaghan who took the first Bible reading from the book of 11 Chronicles 7:8-18. The scriptures reminded Christians of the need to seek the face of God and turn from wicked ways so that their sins will be forgiven and their land would be healed as well as blessed.

The second and third reading which were taken from the books of Joel 2: 12-20 and Isaiah 53:1-12 by the Transition Committee Chairman of Bomadi local government, Mr. Collins Olorogun and the Member Representing Bomadi Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly respectively admonished the people to turn to God for His mercies and repent to enjoy His kindness.

Calling on the people to reconcile with God through Jesus Christ, Evangelist Nelson Orisa of the Intercessors of Nigeria who delivered the sermon admonished Christians thus, “only if you put your hope in God that you will receive help from Him as a people to be transformed and your land would be blessed”.

He maintained that the Solemn Assembly which has been going on in almost the 25 local government areas of Delta State “is not a political gathering, rather it is a spiritual transformation and a prophetic visitation,” adding that the benefit of the gathering would stay till the next generation.

The Evangelist said the worshiping of dead ancestors, marriage to water spirits, idols worship and fornication among others, have been a hindrance for God to release the inheritance of the land.

According to him, “without the priesthood, there would be no inheritance because whenever you are connected to the right priesthood you are connected to God, and anything you get outside God, you are building desolation”.

The programme featured prayers, offered to God by different Pastors and Bishops for the redemption of the local government, praise and worship songs as well as confession of sins.

Other dignitaries at the prophetic Solemn Assembly are the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Newworld Safugha,  former member of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Reginald Donbraye, traditional rulers and community leaders.
