SURE-P: Uduaghan commissions buses, boats in Bomadi

As part of efforts by the federal and state governments to cushion the effect of the deregulation of the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry, wife of Delta State Governor, Deaconess Nere Roli Uduaghan has commissioned six buses and two speedboats procured by the Collins Olorogun led administration in Bomadi local government.

In a brief remark, Mrs. Uduaghan charged the people to use the buses and boats meaningfully to the glory of God.

Addressing the press, the Transition Committee Chairman of Bomadi local government,  Mr. Collins Olorogun explained that Bomadi being a local government area with high business prospects and rich in agricultural activities, transportation of human and agricultural produce to the hinterland has been a major obstacle to the people.

According to him, “it is to boost transportation for the people to have real value for their businesses and farming activities that my administration procured six 18-seater Toyota Hiace buses and two 75 Horse Power Speedboats from the SURE-P funds recently released to Bomadi local government by the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.  We identified transportation as priority need of the people that is why we are establishing a transport scheme, which will be subsidized to cushion the hardship faced by the people in the area of land and water transportation on account of the subsidy removal. The buses will be handled by the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Bomadi, while the two speedboats will be handled by the National Union of Maritime Workers, Bomadi”, Olorogun declared.

The Council Boss charged the people of Bomadi local government to support the state and local government programmes for greater dividends of democracy.
