An Ikpoba Okha Area Customary Court sitting at Idogbo has remanded one 22-year
old Cyril Okosun in prison custody for allegedly bathing his girlfriend, Blessing
Ikhumuhi with acid.
Cyril was alleged to
have on 9th April 2013 at Dumez road in Benin City poured acid on the face and
body of the girl after she called off their relationship.
Counsel to Cyril Okosun,
Fidelis Oriafo, pleaded for his client’s bail but the Prosecution Inspector , Victor
Ehiorobo objected on the grounds that the victim, Blessing Ikhumuhi is still in
critical condition at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
President of the court,
Princess Esther Eweka adjourned the case to 23rd July 2013
for hearing and possible consideration of bail.
