Orhoakpor community gets new leadership

A new leadership to pilot the affairs of Orhoakpor Communitty,  Ehiope East local government for the next four years has emerged following  a quadrennial delegate conference held at the community recently,  just as one Mr. Solomon Dukuye was disqualified from participating in the process, Fresh Angle can report.
Members of the new leadership are: Engr. Dafe Avbovbo, President General, Gordon Otobuere, Deputy President General, Chief Ozanor Ezekiel, Vice President, Monday Otan, Secretary General, Ekpe Louis Ogheneochuko, Assistant Secretary General, Barr. Ogidiagba Henry Tobore, Legal Adviser, Amrenyan Victor, Treasurer, Ikutegbe Ezekiel, Publicity Secretary, Mr. Amrore Bolokor,  Financial Secretary General, Omoboh Solomon, Auditor General, Otobo Famous, Organizing  Secretary, Rose Oyibode, Woman Leader and Austin Egbegonor, Provost.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, EC, Chief Isaac Etayobere said in line with section 38 sub-section 8 of Orhoakpor Community’s Constitution,  Mrs. Solomon Dukuye was disqualified from participating in the election for failing to attend Orhoakpor meetings where he stays with all his money.   According to Chief Etayobere, section 38 sub-section 8 reads; a candidate must be sponsored by a branch of the community where he resides or does business.” He explained further that Mr. Dukuye failed to meet the criteria even with his money.
He called on indigenes of Orhoakpor  both at home and in Diaspora to always attend their community meetings so as to avoid embarrassment  like Mr. Dukuye and possibly enjoy the benefits that follows.
 Indigenes of Orhoakpor  community had sort to know from the out-gone executive, the where -about of a six million which was purportedly given the community by Shell Petroleum Development Company.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the Orhoakpor community quadrennial delegate conference, immediate past President General of the community, the Ogbodu of Agbon Kingdom, Chief  George Owarrieta,  explained that the six million naira was a revolving loan given to the community by Shell Petroleum Development  Company. He said the accusation by indigenes of the community is that beneficiaries of the loan refused to pay back so that others could equally benefit.
Chief  George Owarrieta, an NNPC retiree boasted that his 8years as President General of Orhoakpor transformed the community to “a fast growing sub- clan in Agbon Kingdom”.
He said within the period of his administration, the community had street lights, tarred roads and better landscaping. He said the community was able to achieve success due to the versatility of his leadership.
According to him, his leadership embarked on the construction of a befitting quarter for the Oka-orho (Eldest man) as well as an Ogwa for the Council of Chiefs which could not be completed.
He enjoined the new leadership to pursue the six million naira revolving loan, stressing that leadership is a continuan.
Newly Elected President General of the community, Engr. Dafe Avbovbo said he will take up from where the last regimes stopped to enable him transform the community to the envy of others.
Engr. Avbovbo who promised to carry along those who dropped out of the race, said the six million naira revolving loan was effectively utilized.
