Leader of Warri South Local Government Council Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Edafiajebre has insisted that he “remains the authentic Leader of Warri South legislative Arm”, saying he moved for adjournment during the House Sitting of Tuesday June 18, when he noticed that “some disgruntled members of the House started disrupting” proceedings.

Hon. Edafiajebre explained that he first noticed the disruption when he called on the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to present report of the 2019 fiscal estimate for consideration, after completing work on the budget estimate earlier proposed by the council executive.

According to Hon. Edafiajebre, it was after the plenary was adjourned by him and the Mace of the House duly moved to the Office of the Clerk, that the “disgruntled” members led by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Ochuko Eyekpimi, Hon. Jude Igerebo, Hon. Paul Jessa, Hon. Femi Okorodiden and Hon. Ogbitse Osanweren, reportedly broke into the Office of the Clerk and made away with the Mace.

Clerk of Warri South legislative Arm, Comrade Godfrey Affor Maku, corroborated the testimony of Hon. Edafiajebre.

As at the time of this report, the whereabouts of the Mace was unknown.
