Aiteo cup: Confluence Queens FC Players stranded over lack of funds to execute match

The unpalatable information reaching Fresh Angle International from the Confluence Queens FC camp have it that, they may not honor that game as there is no funds from the government to execute the game.

A player who confirmed the development to Our Kogi State Correspondent on condition of anonymity said she and and her team mates are in the dark regarding their trip to Ebonyi, saying she would be devastated if the club ended up not honoring the match.

"Boss, I just dey camp oo, everybody dey here dey wait for how far oo, we never know whether we go go for this journey sef, because by now them supposed don tell us who and who dey travel and when we dey go, e tire me oo. Every time we go dey wait till late hour to know if we go travel for match or not, this package no good at all. Boss, e no go funny if we no go for this game o because is the shortest way to win something be this and e go be shame to government too", she averred.

Confluence Queens reached the last eight by beating Fortess Babes of Benin by 4-1 in the Round of 16 encounter played in Ado-Ekiti last week.

If a last minute intervention is not effected, especially in the area of fund, the hope of Confluence Queens FC winning the first major club trophy for Kogi State may not be actualized.
The State owned women's team are in the quarterfinal of 2019 Aiteo Cup, popularly called the FA Cup.

They are expected to play Ibom Angels FC from Akwa Ibom in  Abakaliki, Ebonyi State on Wednesday 26 June, 2019.
