Ubeji Road Project: Okowa has exhibited hate against Itsekiri Nation- Tenumah

All Progressives Congress, APC, Chieftain and avid supporter of the Great Ovedje Ogboru Governorship project, Alero Naomi Tenumah, has come down heavy on Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, accusing the State Chief Executive of “exhibiting hate against Itsekiri Nation with the abandonment of Ubeji Road Project in Itsekiri land”.

Tenumah, who is a member of Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Yola, declared that despite assurances by Governor Okowa that he would commission the Ubeji Road Project before the last general elections, the “contractor handling the project, suddenly disappeared from site once he was rigged into office”.

She asserted, “it is shocking that despite the huge revenue the state government gets from the oil companies operating in the Ubeji-Ifie axis, with its attendant positive socio-economic impact on the local government and host communities, the Okowa administration has deliberately abandoned the Ubeji Road Project and other infrastructural projects in Itsekiri home-land”.

The APC stalwart enjoined Governor Okowa to show statesmanship by embarking on the needed infrastructural development in Itsekiri land, “because as a Nation, Itsekiri is the number one revenue earner for Delta State in terms of crude oil and gas resources, as such his political grudge should not come to play in developing our land”.

She reinstated her earlier call for Itsekiri sons and daughters in PDP to, “stop their aimless and frustrating support for Okowa in the face of obvious neglect and join Itsekiris in APC to actualize Ogboru governorship mandate via the courts”.
