The member representing Sapele, Okpe and Uvwie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Efe Afe has enjoined the Federal Government to reconstruct the deplorable Adeje section of the Warri-Sapele-Benin Expressway road .
Hon. Afe was speaking in an interview while on a heavy traffic caused by the failed portion of the road at the weekend.
He express dismay that the oil bearing Delta State does not deserved such a deplorable road especially as it connect the south-south region to other regions of the country.
The lawmaker asked the Federal Government to direct FERMA as a matter of urgency to reconstruct the road and not to patch it .
According to him, "patching the failed portion of the Warri-Sapele-Benin expressway Road would not help matters as heavy trucks loaded with diesel, fuel and other petroleum products regularly passes through the busy road."
Hon. Afe said the dilapidated road has caused a lot of pains and loses to members of his constituents, stressing that economic activities has been affected by the deplorable road.
He noted that presently hoodlums and suspected criminals have taken advantage of the dilapidated road to rob unsuspected Nigerians of their money and goods .
"People travelling from Lagos to Warri and its environs spend More time on the road ,motorists spend more money to buy fuel due to the deplorable conditions of the road,federal Government need to intervene to alleviate the sufferings of motorists and commuters"
Hon. Afe thanked the Delta State Government led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who has severally resurfaced the failed portion of the Adeje section of the Warri-Sapele-Benin expressway road.
