Kogi Guber: Abdullahi emerges Accord Party Candidate


 

Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi on Saturday August 31 emerged as the candidate of Accord Party, AP ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State.
 
Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Abdullahi who is the sole candidate of the party in the  primary scored 301 votes.
 
The primary election which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has 463 delegates, 319 votes cast and 18 invalid votes.
 
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi said it is time to change the narrative of Kogi State from the negative trend in the last four years.
 
According to him, all hands must be on deck to fix the wrongs of the pasts, adding that Kogi as a State deserve a government that will not be oppressive but rather adopt an all inclusive approach which is the hallmark for national development.
 
Continuing, he states that the State has the necessary potentials to develop all sector and the issue of workers welfare will be given a top priority.
 
The candidate further maintained that the forthcoming election will be a litmus text for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to write their names in gold in a bid to restore their sanity in the sight of the electorates.
 
While offering himself to serve the people of the State, Abdullahi noted that the party must unite and work in one voice if they must wrestle power from the ruling party.
 
Earlier in his remarks, the State chairman of the party, Alhassan Adakeke said the party remains committed towards fielding the best candidate that will contest in the forthcoming polls.
