Elders of Ifiekporo community in Warri South local government area of Delta State have disowned a publication signed by Mr. Lucky Edon and Mr. Kingsley Okoturoh in the V anguard Newspaper of Tuesday October 4, wherein they named one Mr. Samuel Edon and David Okoturoh as Chairman and Secretary of the Community respectively.

Elders ofIfiekporo community in Warri South local government area of Delta Statehave disowned a publication signed by Mr. Lucky Edon and Mr. Kingsley Okoturohin the V anguard Newspaper of Tuesday October 4, wherein they namedone Mr. Samuel Edon and David Okoturoh as Chairman and Secretary of theCommunity respectively.

In astatement signed by 17 elders of the community under the aegis of Ifiekporo CommunityCouncil of Elders, they noted that Lucky Edon is not the Deputy Olare-Aja (Deputy Head) of the communitysince he “is not in any way connected to Ejo-Ekipaternally or maternally”. According to the elders, anybody that must be Olare-Aja (Head of the Community) orDeputy Olare-Aja (Deputy Head of theCommunity) apart from having his lineage drawn from Ejo-Eki descendant, must be the most senior male for the positionof Olare-Aja and second most seniormale child for the position of deputy Olare-Aja.

Thestatement which was dated November 15, 2011 enjoins the general public todisregard the said publication, stressing that it is misleading and has nohistorical background.

Secretary ofthe Council of Elders, Engr. Nami George, popular Warri based vocal preacher,Rev. Dr. Stephen Gbejoro, Pa. S. Nikoro, Pa. George Mogbeyiteren, PastorGabriel Ogona as well as other prominent male and female elders of the councilsigned the statement.

Fresh Angle canexclusively report that signatories of the statement are also backing theleadership of Prince Charles Omadeli, who was only recently reaffirmed asChairman of the Community Trust by the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II.
