The Chairman House Committee on Trade and Investments in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, has disclosed plans to launch a monthly empowerment programme for 200 of his constituents.
Hon. Opuoru, who represents Warri South Constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly, explained that the programme tagged: " Matthew Poko Opuoru Grassroots Empowerment Scheme, MPOGES," will see the 200 beneficiaries, cutting across the six wards that make up Warri South Constituency 2, going home with five thousand naira (N5,000) monthly.
The stipends totalling one million naira per month, will amount to twelve million naira yearly.
According to a statement signed by Memuduaghan L. O., News Media Konnect, Warri South Constituency 2, final screening of selected beneficiaries, " shall be carried out at venue" of the flag - off programme, " Government House Annex, Edjeba, Warri".
The statement which noted that the empowerment programme will kick -off 8.30 am Monday December 16, warned that beneficiaries who are absent on the said date, stand automatically disqualified.
