President Muhammadu Buhari, says his administration’s commitment to improving security and policing in Nigeria, informed the decision to approve the recruitment of 10,000 additional police personnel annually.
The President explained via his twitter handle today that it was part of the reason, he assented to the Police Trust Fund Bill, as a public-private funding framework for the Force.
While noting that the commissioning of the Nigeria Police National Command and Control Centre, NPF-C4i and the first phase of the Nigeria Police Crime and Incident Data Base, NPC & IDB Centre, were geared towards substantial investment in Technology as a way forward for policing in Nigeria, he assured that his administration, “will continue to fully support the Police to implement and expand technology-led and intelligence-driven policing in the fight against bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers and other highly organized criminals in various parts of the country”.
