The Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC has unveiled a plaque in honour of 32 Itsekiri youths killed during the last Warri pogrom, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.
The honour of the 32 fallen heroes, including: Abete Lucky, Akumagba Ajuligan, Amorighoye Collins, two Edemas, two Edremodas and two Okoros, is part of activities organized by the Itsekiri youth body to mark the 2017 youth week.
President of INYC, Comrade Oritseweyinmi Agbateyiniro who spoke to Correspondents in Warri, Delta State, Friday August 25 during the unveiling of the fallen heroes’ plaque which kick-started the weeklong exercise, disclosed that a N100 million INYC permanent Secretariat will be launched as part of the youth week.
He advised Itsekiri youths to shun violence, adopt legitimate means to pursue their agitation and stressed that the Deghele Declaration/Operation Jigini which is meant to liberate “the oppressed Itsekiri people through non-violence” approach is on course.

Comrade Agbateyiniro appealed to Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to build enterprise centre in Warri for youths to learn skills and develop themselves.
Public Relations Officer of INYC, Comrade Joseph Uwawah who spoke in the same vein, insisted that the body was determined to re-orientate the mindset of Itsekiiri youths against violence as a means of agitation.
