Worried by the seeming disinterest of young Itsekiris toward education, The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli has tasked parents and guardians of Itsekiri extraction to encourage their children/wards to acquire education, saying it’s one sure way of moving Warri Kingdom to greater heights.
The Monarch who expressed the worries Sunday September 25 when he visited Obodo and Omadino communities in Warri South Local Government Area as part of his tour of Itsekiri communities in the build-up to his one year coronation anniversary, gave plaudits to Niger Delta Activist, Chief Ayirimi Emami for solely ferrying pupils as well as students to Ode-Itsekiri and Orugbo communities with his boats since the end of Warri crisis.
While calling on his subjects to corporate with constituted community committees with a view to achieving the needed progress and development in Itsekiri land, the respected Monarch commended Omadino and Obodo communities for withdrawing “all cases in court” in-line with his directive, promising to bring lasting solution to the land dispute  between both neighbouring communities.
The Olu of Warri assured the people of Obodo community that he will liaise with the owner of telecommunications grant, Chief Mike Adenuga with a view to impress it on him on the need to install Glo Mast in the community to address the telecommunication challenge being suffered by residents of the Warri Community.
Our Correspondent reports that The Olu prayed for indigenes of both communities, even as various families and groups paid him homage.
Prominent Chiefs of the Kingdom, including Chief S. Irone, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Chief Ayirimi Emami and Chief Fred Ogbe were among The Olu of Warri entourage.
