The Kogi State House of Assembly has suspended five Local Government administrators over alleged gross misconduct, Fresh Angle International can report.
The suspension of the five Local Government administrators came in a matter of urgent public importance raised before the Floor of the House by the member representing Igala Mela Odolu Constituency, Friday Sanni, accusing the administrators of misappropriating local government funds.
Our Roving National Correspondent reports that the affected local government administrators are: Igalamela, Ogori, Ijumu, Kabba Bunu and Okehi.
The five administrators suspended by the State House of Assembly are: Baron Okwoli Igalamela, Moses Akande Ogori, Tapfiq Isah Ogori, Moses Olorunleke Ijumu and Abdulkareem Ohiare from Okehi.
The affected administrators have been directed to immediately handover to their secretaries pending the conclusion of the House investigation.
Honorable Sanni while quoting section 98 of the Nigeria Constitution told his colleagues that the embattled Chairmen abandoned their primary obligations for their own personal gains.
He alleged that the five administrators have continued to spend from the Local Government account without appropriation.
Seconding the motion, Hon. Abayomi Pedro from Mopa said it was time the House kicks off with its oversight function.
