Police arrest 85-year old, five others for Armed Robbery in Delta

The Police in Asaba, Delta State have arrested an 85-years old robbery suspect and five others for allegedly robbing residents of the area at different locations, Fresh Angle International can report.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna Ibrahim who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, gave their names as follows: Opone Kizitto 85 years, Arinze Sunday, Otutu Ashebudike, Ojio Kpa Chukwunalu, Basil Oshugbo and Ossai Godwin, adding that the suspects were beings detained at the State Police Headquarters for further investigation.

Our Delta North Correspondent gathered that the suspects had allegedly been involved in breaking and entry around Abraka community, Asaba and its environs before nemesis caught up with them.

The Police Boss explained that the suspects were arrested based on a tip-off and useful information gathered from members of the public.

In another development, some unidentified thieves have stolen a motorcycle belonging to a Church Member in a New Generation Church in Ibusa, near Asaba while Service was in progress.

Reports said the Church (Name With-held) had been targeted by robbers who often steal motorcycles belonging to members during service.

Police Source in Ibusa who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed that efforts were being made to track down the thieves.

One of the robbed victims, Henry Ofone, told Fresh Angle International that the stolen motorcycle was on hire purchase six months ago and wondered how he would pay the owner the remaining balance. In his word, “I got the motorcycle on hire purchase, where will I get money to pay the balance barely six months ago”.
