Just In: Emiko emerges APC candidate

Report just reaching Fresh Angle International says Prince Stanley O. Emiko has emerged candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC Candidate in the forthcoming April 26 Warri South Constituency 1 Bye-Election.                    

 

He reportedly scored a total of 113 votes out of 151 delegates that voted in the party primary that held Saturday April 8 at Obodo Community in Warri South Local Government Area.        

 

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC who declined mentioning their names and representatives of APC at the National level were said to have monitored the primary.      

 

The emergence of Stanley Emiko as the APC candidate will not come as surprise to political pundits in Warri. It remains to be seen if he will step down for his Aunty, Princess (Mrs.) Shola Daibo who PDP leaders have positioned to contest the poll on the platform of Accord Party.      

 

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the chairman of APC National Screening /Election Committee, Mr. C.C. Ubah alongside other members of the committee conducted the primary at about 4pm under the watchful eyes of officials of INEC, DSS and policemen.          

 

A total of 151 delegates were screened and allowed to cast their votes for four contestants: Prince Stanley Emiko, Sunday Ejegi, Omagbemi Charles and Roland Atsiangbe.                

 

While Stanley Emiko polled 113 votes, Sunday Ejegi, Roland Atsiangbe and Omagbemi Charles scored 31, 0 and 5 votes respectively.                

 

Announcing the result, Mr. Ubah commended the aspirants and delegates for their peaceful conduct and presented victory certificate to Prince Emiko.                

 

Prince Emiko thanked the delegates for their support and promised to ensure APC emerges victorious come April 26.                    

 

Fresh Angle International can report that other members of the party's screening /election committee that conducted the exercise are: Hon. Ekeng Iwatt, Mrs. Yejide Ogundipe, Awwal Musa Bashir and Hon. FEMA Sanni.
