Itsekiri Ex - Agitators decry continued marginalisation, demand appointment of Itsekiri Indigene as Aide to PAP Administrator

Itsekiri Ex - Agitators Forum, has again decried the perceived exclusion of Itsekiri ex - agitators and students by  Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, saying the exclusion was again manifested in the recently released batch of 150 postgraduate scholarship beneficiaries deployed to various universities in the United Kingdom.

Coordinator of Itsekiri Ex - Agitators Forum, Comrade Dennis Mene, who raised the alarm in an electronic statement made available to Fresh Angle International Monday August 31, said the latest batch brings the total number of offshore deployments made by the PAP, under Dr. Otuaro's leadership to 243 this year, without a single Itsekiri.

He emphasized the necessity of appointing an Itsekiri Indigene as Aide to the PAP Administrator, to stop further exclusion of Itsekiris in the programme.

His statement, reads: "

?ITSEKIRI EX-AGITATORS CONDEMN THE DISCRIMINATORY,  MARGINALIZATION, DEMAND IMMEDIATE INCLUSION IN PRESIDENTIAL AMNESTY PROGRAMME DEPLOYMENTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

?The Itsekiri Ex-Agitators Forum vehemently condemns the continued and deliberate neglect of Itsekiri ex-agitators and students by the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro. This systemic exclusion has once again manifested in the recently released batch of 150 postgraduate scholarship beneficiaries deployed to various universities in the United Kingdom.
?This latest batch brings the total number of offshore deployments made by the PAP under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership to 243 this year alone, following previous deployments of 93 beneficiaries in January and May.

Prior to these cohorts, approximately 270 individuals had been sponsored to study specialized programmes including Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Science Analytics, Law, Forensic Audit, Fintech Analytics, Construction Engineering Management etc.

?Regrettably, despite being fully captured in the third phase of the official PAP database, not a single Itsekiri student or ex-agitator was included in these allocations, rendering the selection process blatantly lopsided and discriminatory.

We view this persistent pattern of abandonment since Dr. Otuaro's assumption of office as an unacceptable marginalization of our people, and we demand immediate inclusion across all ongoing and future human capital development initiatives.

?To rectify these grave injustices, we outline our critical demands as follows:

1. ?We demand the immediate inclusion of qualified Itsekiri beneficiaries in all pending and future educational and vocational deployments. The current non-deployment policy has left our youths stranded, unattended, and unfairly sidelined.
2. We call for an immediate resolution regarding the complete absence of scholarship provisions for qualified Itsekiri students, a situation that has subjected our academic hopefuls to severe financial and educational hardship.
3. Given current economic realities and soaring inflation, the existing N65,000 monthly stipend is entirely inadequate for basic survival.
4. We emphasize the critical necessity of appointing an Itsekiri son or daughter as a Personal Assistant (PA) or Special Assistant (SA) to the PAP Administrator.
5. This direct liaison is vital to ensuring inclusivity, transparency, and effective communication between the Itsekiri ex-agitators and the PAP office.
