Eshor Targets Blue Economy Revolution, Promises Massive Jobs and Free Education in Delta

The Governorship Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Delta State, Engr. Isaac O. Eshor, has unveiled an ambitious development blueprint aimed at transforming the state's economy through the vast but largely untapped opportunities in the blue economy sector.

Speaking during a stakeholders' engagement, Eshor said Delta State possesses enormous aquatic resources, including rivers, creeks, waterways, fisheries, ports, maritime assets, and coastal economic opportunities that have remained underutilized for decades.

According to him, a strategic investment in the blue economy would create thousands of direct and indirect jobs for youths, women, and skilled professionals across the state. The future of Delta State lies beyond oil. Our waterways, fishing industry, maritime sector, boat manufacturing, aquaculture, tourism, and coastal trade can generate massive employment and sustainable wealth for our people. We will unlock these opportunities and make Delta State a leading blue economy hub in Nigeria, he stated.

The AAC governorship hopeful noted that his administration would establish vocational and technical training centres focused on maritime skills, fisheries development, boat building, marine transportation, and other blue economy-related enterprises to equip young people with employable skills.

Eshor emphasized that job creation would be one of the major priorities of his government, stressing that the blue economy sector has the capacity to absorb thousands of unemployed youths while stimulating economic growth across riverine and upland communities.

Beyond economic development, the AAC candidate pledged to declare free education at the primary and secondary school levels if elected governor, describing education as the most powerful tool for combating poverty and securing the future of the younger generation.

He assured Deltans that no child would be denied access to quality education due to financial constraints, adding that his administration would prioritize investments in educational infrastructure, teaching materials, and human capital development.

Recognizing the critical role of teachers in nation-building, Eshor promised a comprehensive welfare package designed to improve the living and working conditions of teachers across the state.

He announced plans to introduce a compulsory monthly bonus of ?50,000 for all primary and secondary school teachers in Delta State as a reward for their dedication and contributions to the development of society.

Teachers are the bedrock of our society. They shape the future of our children and build the human capital that drives development. Any government that neglects teachers is undermining the future of the state, he said.

The AAC candidate further pledged to establish soft loan schemes that would enable teachers to acquire houses and vehicles at affordable repayment rates, thereby enhancing their welfare and productivity.

According to him, providing access to housing and transportation support for teachers would boost morale, improve service delivery, and encourage greater commitment within the education sector.

Eshor maintained that his vision for Delta State is anchored on economic diversification, human capital development, and social welfare, expressing confidence that the combination of blue economy investments, free education, youth empowerment, and improved teachers' welfare would usher in a new era of prosperity for the state.

He called on Deltans to embrace a new development agenda focused on productivity, innovation, and inclusive growth, assuring that his administration would prioritize the welfare of the people while unlocking the state's vast economic potential for sustainable development.
