Confronted with the reality that over-reliance on crude oil as the mainstay of any economy will be futile in the next two decades, the National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG has concluded arrangements to stage the maiden Itsekiri Economic Summit with a view to safeguarding the future of Itsekiris, especially the unborn.
The economic summit with the theme: “the development of Iwere land and sustainable growth”, is scheduled for 9:00am Thursday August 31, 2017 at the King George Centenary Hall, Warri South Council Sub Secretariat in Warri, Delta State.
A statement signed by the National President of NAIG, Comrade Collins Edema and made available to Newsmen in Warri, noted that renowned Economist and Consultant, Mr. Bismarck Jemide Rewane, foremost academia and entrepreneurial icon, Prof. Pat Utomi, famous Delta based motivational Speaker, Mr. Segun Manuel and Mr. Omajuwa Akperi from Lagos will deliver keynote addresses at the August Summit.
While explaining that the summit is borne out of the desire of NAIG to chart a new vista for the development of Iwere land as well as create a paradigm shift in the mind of the attendees, the apex Itsekiri graduates’ association averred that the event is being organized in conjunction with notable Itsekiri professionals and foreign development partners.
