Blank Budget: Delta government failed to address Ojougboh's claim, resorted to insults -Omo-Agege
Senator Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege fielding questions from newsmen at his Orogun Country home

The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege says the Okowa led administration failed to address the alleged 2017 Delta government blank budget raised by former Deputy National Chairman of PDP,  Dr. Cairo Ojougboh and resorted to insults instead.

Senator Omo-Agege stated that there is no DESOPADEC in Delta State as at today and challenged Deltans to ask Governor Okowa what he has been doing with 13% derivation funds since assuming office in 2015.

The APC federal lawmaker noted that journalists in Delta State are not doing enough to investigate activities of the Okowa administration, especially as it affects the alleged spending of N164 billion on roads' construction by the Okowa government.

The former Secretary to Delta State Government who spoke in a no-holds-bar interactive forum with journalists at his Orogun county home in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State on Saturday October 14,stated that he doesn't see anything wrong in troops deployment to the Niger Delta to assist the police in the maintenance of law and order.

He described himself as a Buhari Senator and averred that the President Muhammadu Buhari he has spoken to on several National issues “is not what is being portrayed” in the old Midwest and Eastern Regions.

According to him, only the old Midwest Region (now Edo and Delta States) can complain of marginalization, because the old Eastern Region which includes “Bayelsa and Rivers” has had shots at the positions of President and Vice President of Nigeria.

While declaring that he won't support the creation of state police because “it’s not in the interest of Urhobo for now” due to believe that the present Delta State governor has manipulated security agencies in the state to his advantage.

The first -term Senator who has so far sponsored four bills, including an Act to establish the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE Electoral Act No. 6, 2010(amendment) bill 2016 and a bill for an Act to prohibit sexual harassment in educational institutions and for Matters Concerned therewith, have so far influenced eight projects to his constituency as well as empower several indigent indigenes and petty traders in Delta Central.
