A total of 100 indigent widows and orphans of Eagle Hand as well as Potters’ House Orphanages in Warri South Local Government Area have benefited from the bags/sachets of rice, vegetable oil, tin tomatoes, provision, petty cash and toiletries distributed by wife of Delta State Governor, Dame (Mrs.) Edith Okowa as part of her Christmas largesse to widows and other underprivileged persons across Delta State.

Making the distribution Thursday December 21 in Warri, Dame Edith Okowa who was represented by Mrs. Tina Otumara, wife of Warri South PDP leader, Chief Joseph Otumara, stressed that the beneficiaries should be more concerned about her intention than the yuletide gifts.

The Governor’s wife while noting that the Christmas welfare support is part of her pet project, 05 Initiative culled from Matthew 25 vs 35-36, assured that the gesture will be a continuous exercise “so long as God gives life”.

Wife of Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Alero Uduaghan prayed God to bless Governor Okowa and his wife for the kind gesture, praying God to return them to power in 2019.

Fresh Angle International checks revealed that eight widows each from the 12 INEC wards in Warri South, including four others received the largesse.

Current Warri South PDP Women Leader, Omawumi Cheke, former Warri South PDP Women Leaders such as Madam Jolomi Dabor and Grace Yomere were among party Chieftains at the brief presentation.
