Olu of Warri commends contractor for completing 500-capacity town Hall

The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli has commended the Chief Executive Officer and Management of Donparker General Enterprises for the speedy execution and completion of the ultra-modern 500-capacity town hall complex built at Ode-Ugborodo at an amount over and above the contract sum of #123million under the SPDC/NNPC Joint Venture.

The royal father who gave the commendation recently at Ode-Ugborodo applauded SPDC for the project and others being executed in the community just as he also commended the youths and good people of Ugborodo community for assisting the contractor to execute the job to completion without let or hindrances even as he charged the youths of the community not to scare away projects and their contractors by making unwarranted financial demands called “deve” from them. He charged them instead encourage them to execute their contract as that would create jobs with its multiplier effects on the social-economic live of both the community and its natives.

In his address, Delta state Governor, Dr. Ifeayin Okowa, represented by Mr. Mofe Pirah tasked the private sector and non-governmental organization to partner with the government as the government alone cannot drive infrastructural development and appealed to all oil companies that moved out of the state to return and continue their operations.

In his welcome address, Chairman of the Ugborodo CommunityP-GMoU Committee, Mr. Victor Ogbite Omunu gave kudos to the contractor specially for executing the job at a total cost of #143,236.000.00 far above what the SPDC /NNPC Joint Venture awarded the job for and paid glowing tribute to the Olu of Warri for personally coming to Commission the project in spite threat by some unknown persons.

Mr. Omunu said the town hall made provision for five offices, a meeting room for 18 persons, one ICT room, a store and conveniences.
