The Delta State Chapter of the Youths in Politics, YIP, were on parade Tuesday May 29 at the Event Centre in Asaba during the Praise & Thanksgiving Program organized by the State Government to commemorate Democracy Day celebration.
The youths march was significantly geared towards sensitizing the populace especially the youths to become active players in politics.
The Comrades were clothed in green and white t-shirts and caps with message caption on them to further propel the importance of the march.
The leader of the group, Ambassador Emmanuel Oguori disclosed that the organization is fundamentally a movement on the platform, there is no better time than now to encourage the youths to get into the political landscape in the country for tomorrow starts now.
Comrade Thesy Oghirhia the Secretary of the duly registered organization explained that the group is non political and is established primarily to sensitize youths on their rights as citizens in the country and to help nurture their aspirations of vying for political positions.
The vision of the organization according to another representative of the group, Comrade Uchenna Steven Osuala is to educate and
awaken the youths and project them to the frontline in politics.
He further stated that the group mission is to ensure that through leadership education, regular meetings, seminars and field work the group would achieve its aspirations.
The Comrades stressed the need for youths to get their permanent voters cards (PVC) as the definite way to get involved in the affairs of the country.
